The Native Narrative Project

Overall goal of this project

Stereotypes are rampant in the media we consume daily, from social media platforms like Instagram to travel blogs. When informing ourselves about a destination we want to visit, we mainly read the stories of foreigners who have traveled to this place before: A German traveling to Thailand, an American spending some time in Malawi. Rarely do we see people from these regions writing about where they are from. But is this really the way we want to experience different places all over the world? Always from the lens of what we already know?

Through the “Native Narrative” project, we amplify the voices of Native individuals. At ChargeHolidays, we’re building a platform that allows you to share the unique scents of your homeland and choose the colors that best capture the essence of your childhood memories. When it comes to describing landscapes or recommending authentic bars and restaurants, no one can do it better than someone intimately familiar with the culture and heritage—the Natives.

.

Roadmap:

September 2024: 100 countries
